If the birthday is unknown, celebrate your adoption anniversary as “the day our story began.” Keep an approximate date labeled as approximate.

Three details for your cosmic keepsake

• The entrance: What happens in the first ten seconds after you come home?
• The orbit: Where does your companion settle when you are together?
• The ritual: What tiny moment belongs to the two of you?

A fictional example: “When I take off my shoes, Pip leaves one sock beside the sofa, then waits for me to sit down.” That gives a keepsake more to remember than “Pip is loyal.”

Try these creative prompts in a notebook. They are an invitation to reflect, not a compatibility score.

1. “I bring ___ to our little universe.” Think of something you offer: a steady routine, playful afternoons or a quiet place to land.

3. “Our meeting place is ___.” Choose a shared ritual, even when your energies differ: a lively walk followed by a quiet evening, for example.

Give the scene a cosmic title such as “Our evening orbit.” Add a few sentences in your own words and keep the details that feel true to your relationship.
